I can't believe I'm sitting here in front of a computer screen at work with a raging migraine. It's making me fucking sick. I don't have any medication on me, either.
Jeff and I are gonna go see Marshall Crenshaw perform an accoustic set at Border's (unless one of us bail, or it gets cancelled, or something) on Thursday. That should be fun. The great Social Distortion are rising from the ashes, and touring. They will be here on September 29th. Unfortunately, they will be on the Big Ass Show lineup. There is one other band on that lineup that I like (granted, Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal" is amusing, but that doesn't mean I want to see them). By the way, has everyone heard Dynamite Hack's cover of "Boyz-n-the-hood"? It is easily the funniest song I've ever heard (well, some of Jon Wayne's material might be funnier)!

So, what excitement has there been in my life lately? Well, last Saturday I won a digital camera in a drawing at work. I bought a CD burner. And I have been generally appreciating my gorgeous significant other and enjoying our time together after some turbulence in the relationship a couple of weeks ago. I'm not going to post just to post. I'll write again when I actually have a thought or an event worth writing about.

Finally...Goatlipss has come back to the blogspot!
I was finally able to get a background to stick. That makes me one happy cunt. It's not ideal, but it'll have to do.

Okay, this is all kinds of fucked up! Twice now, the blog has reverted back to it's original background, and I've had to reinstall it. Anyone have any idea what gives?
Huge thanks to Scott for helping me install a new background! I haven't wanted to publish anything until I could do it. Does anyone like it?

Jeebus...what a shitty day. Not only is this heat making me bitchy, tired, and generally miserable....but today I got to watch many of the nice people at work walk out for the last time. One gal walked over, said goodbye to me, gave me a hug, and I almost cried. I can't stand to see other people get hurt like that (unless they're deserving slackers, then I relish in it). It was also my boss' last day. It's not very often that you find a boss that you actually give a shit about, but this one was very special. She was easily the most understanding, easygoing (without being a pushover), and decent authourity figure I've ever encountered. That is why she got laid off, instead of someone else. You see, she refused to write a couple people up who abused her leniency too much, which caused her to be written up. This blemish gave the company an excuse to make her the boss that got laid off. Corporations don't love a softie. That's why I hated being a boss so much. It was next to impossible to find a middle ground between your employess liking you and your company liking you. You usually can't have it both ways.

I've got a lighthearted new poll up. It's asking for the biggest music-oriented fall from grace of all time. Right now, I only have 3 selections. I'm certain that I'm missing many obvious pussouts, and I'd be interested to hear from people if they have any suggestions for equal, or even worse falls from grace. E-mail me with them at goatlipss@home.com.
Wow, I'm enjoying a pretty relaxing day off. Just doing little errands and fiddling on the computer, downloading music, etc.
So, last night I tried to get to sleep without sleeping medication for the first time in at least a month. The result was staying awake until 5:00 in the goddamn morning. Does anyone have any recommendations for getting to sleep without sleeping meds? I don't have the attention span it takes to meditate, and I would gag on warm milk, so please don't suggest that. And please don't suggest anything that requires a lot of preparation. I don't care for wine, either. I almost sat on my poor cat last night.

A little good news. I've got my Mondays off again. I work Tue, Wed, Fri, and Sat. I apologizing for neglecting the blog. I've been a little preoccupied with myself. I also feel bad for not paying much attention to Scott's tumultuous time with C (does that stand for crazy?). Anyhow, I hope to publish more often in the not too distant future.
