I just saw a news report on Fox 13 tonight that pissed me off to no end. These fucking reporters sent minors to try to sneak in to rated R movies, and to try to get clerks at the box office to sell them tickets, as well. Of course, they had no problem getting in, which didn't surprise me. What grates on me is that these reporters try to catch poor schlubs who are making jackshit an hour, slacking in their job. Don't they have bigger fish to fry? And who the hell is the freak who thought that it would be a good idea to impose prison sentences for theater owners who allow this to happen (rhetorical question, please don't send me his name; I'm not proactive enough to write a letter)? Can you imagine how expensive it would be to put a monitor at every theater door to make sure that minors aren't entering movies they're not supposed to? Sheeesh! Come on now, folks. I saw a million R rated movies as a child, and look at me (did I just make the right wing's point for them? Hmmm).
Lorene and I went to the Prince concert last week. Although I had some criticisms of the show, it truly reminded me of what a talented entertainer he really is. I generally really dislike R&B, but he is much more than R&B. He's a great guitarist and a talented songwriter. He played (to my surprise and delight) "Never Take the Place of Your Man", which the Goo Goo Dolls covered on one of their early albums. It's amazing how a band can cover a pretty good song (or a bad song), and turn it in to a great song. For example "Come On Eileen" by Save Ferris and "Livin' La Vida Loca" by the Toy Dolls. Yes, I am embarassed to say, I had a good time at the Prince concert (except for the piece of shit opening acts).
Lorene and I went to the gym together tonight. Knowing that Lorene might meet me there sure makes it a lot more appealing to go.
Just bought the new Steve Earle CD yesterday. I don't like a lot of country flavored music, but for Steve, Billy Joe Shaver, and BR5-49, I'll definitely make exceptions.
I'm not real excited about my new shift bid at work. There are 18 shifts to bid on, and 9 of them require working on Saturdays. Working Saturdays is fine in the winter, but in the summer, it sucks as hard as Jeff V. at Brick's with too many beers in him.

God, I can't wait until the guys putting in my folk's kitchen are finished. I hate loud noises unless I'm the one making them.
I registered with Amazon.com. I have put Scott on "my favorite people". Is Scott the only person I know registered with them?Am I the only person I know who finds the word "cornholing" to be the most hilarious term in English slang?
I have been to the gym three times this week. I'm still one fat f!@#er. I seem to be able to do one or the other: diet or exercise; can't seem to do both. When I diet, I just wanna lay around and watch TV. When I exercise, I get hardcore cravings for grease and sugar. What's the deal?
Whenever the Jazz lose, I think of Scott and Jeff. I think: they must be so happy at this very moment. Isn't it ironic how some of our (myself 100% included) greatest joys in life are watching particular people and organizations fail? God I love to listen to snippets of Jerry Sloan interviews: Example: Reporter: So Jerry, what do you have planned for game 4? Jerry: To be here at 7:30.
So today I ate at Dave's Famous Barbecue for my Dad's birthday dinner. How did they get famous is all I wanna know?
Looks like Napster has made their service much more limited. That really sucks ass. I can pull up virtually nothing that I enter, now. Maybe, it's just that there aren't many users with lots of files to share, right now...but I think that's wishful thinking on my part. I'd throw out all my Metallica CD's, if I didn't like some of them so damn much.
I have never kept a journal or diary. I will view this as an opportunity to keep one....sort of....except, given that it can be pulicly viewed, it won't include the truly intimate things I would write in a journal.
Will probably not post anything particularly personal about my relationship with Lorene. I can just see me moronically crossing some boundaries with the love of my life. Plus, being the analytical person she is, I fear that I would be frequently explaining what it was that I meant when I wrote something pertinent to her.
Yes. I am a copycat. I have had so much fun reading Scott's blog, that I decided to create my own. I'll probably tire of it, and get rid of it shortly. But for now, I ramble...
