I'm not ready to tear this thing down yet, however. I plan on posting from home soon, as I wish to upload a picture of our newest child, Lizzy. Since Lorene is known at work as the cat lady, another one of her co-workers pushed a kitten on us. She's a beautiful longhair brown and black tabby. Very affectionate. Was apparently dropped off in front of Lorene's co-worker's house. Upon meeting this co-worker, I could see that it would not do to leave the kitten in this woman's care for even one more minute. Now the male/female balance in our house has been tipped to 6 females, 5 males. I've begun trying to lose weight for the wedding. I run and walk around the pond at work during the 4 or 5 o'clock hours. This is really positive, as there is no way in hell I'd run outside during the warm/hot summer days. I'm also trying to walk Helga more, as she has a catfoodbelly now. She has started going in to the cat room when we're not home (or not paying attention), and chowing down. I think Lorene is going to have her Dad put a cat door on the cat room door to put an end to all this nonsense. I think/hope that Lorene has fixed a leak in my office. She believes that it was coming in through my window, so she caulked it up. My carpet was getting soaked in spots, and I had thought for sure it was one of the animals pissing. However, no smell indicated that was probably not the case.

I'm still thinkin' about the redesign. Chet, there will be no hot pink. I'm sure that would be purdy and all, but that would kill my eyes. I visited Lorene's mother on Friday at the hospital and she was having a bit of a rough go of it. She was out of it, had low blood pressure, and was sick to her stomach. But I understand that she's doing somewhat better now. She's got her own room, good nurses, and quite a bit of company. And the blood pressure has been normalized. I don't know how I'm going to deal with surgery, when my time comes. Going without food for all that time sounds like pure hell. I can just imagine the headaches that would give me. And the boredom...how am I going to deal with no stereo? And no internet? Oh jesus, might I have to (gasp, gulp)....read? A book? No, I'd better just make sure there's plenty of magazines.
