By the way,

My grandfather is back home. Amazing. He fought back from asking to have the plug pulled on him to being back home. That's big-time strength of will. I would not have survived what he has. Bad news is, my great-grandfather is having some physical difficulties. All I know is that he is retaining large amounts of water in his legs, and is sleeping constantly. I will write more when I know more about that.

Only being a casual X-Men fan, I had never heard of this one before tonight.

It's shaping up...

...to be a FUCK of a year for concerts! I am going to see at least 3 artists I've never seen before that I've longed to see for quite some time! Lorene and I already have our Motorhead and Peter Murphy tickets. And I'm also pretty psyched to see Elvis Costello in Denver (especially since it sounds like he's made a return to his rock n' roll roots with the new album). Also in the agenda is the Warped Tour, which appears to have some fucking good bands on it. Then we have KMFDM with the Kidneythieves, which could be fun. And best of all (I about soiled myself when I saw this)...SOCIAL DISTORTION is finally coming back!!! Which likely means...a new record...er CD!!! Cracker's coming too, but I don't know if I will drag myself out for a Monday night show, since I work so damn early in the morning. Ah shit, the KMFDM show is on a weeknight, as well. Oh yeah, Lorene will also probably drag me to the Rush concert (just kidding honey, Lorene hates Rush, thank goat).

Wish me luck, I'm going to Wendover to celebrate my Dad's birthday on Sunday. Unfortunately, I'm not staying the night.

By the way Scott and Jeff, have you bitches ever listened to the Hives? I bought their new CD, and it is the best CD I've heard this year. Kinda like the Makers with a better singer and better songs, with hints of the Hi-Fives. Either of you want a copy? Or were you already in the know?

So on the job front...

I went to a seminar today that convinced me that I absolutely do not want to be a financial advisor. It sounds like a fucking nightmare job that you end up devoting every waking second to. And you get paid peanuts for the first couple of years (at least with the company I work for). I also don't have the sales personality for a job like that. Y'know, I wish I had the kind of personality that I could easily strike up conversations with people I've never met, and didn't feel so fucking nervous around new acquaintances. I know that there's shitloads of money to be had in sales...but I just don't have it in me. Sometimes I wish I could just trade in my personality for a better one.

By the way...

Great job with the party, Grace. And thanks for being a great hostess, and cooking them burgers just right. Also, thanks to Brad, Grace, and Janet for sitting there and enduring our high school and other miscellaneous stories that we rehash constantly at parties.

By the way, motherfuckin' is coming to town on May 11th!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, they're coming with some lameass death metal bands. Frankly, I don't fucking care. I've been waiting for that day for so long, and it's even happening on a Saturday. Woo-hoo! 2 killer concerts around the weekend of my birthday! Peter Murphy is coming to town on May 17th, as well!

So, the polls results are pretty entertaining, so far. I started laughing out loud at work, when I noticed that someone had chosen "gettin' it in the ass". I figure that has to be Scott, or maybe Jeremy has finally visited?

I'm just so thankful that Jeff and Scott weren't in Athens, GA for this.

Take it if you wanna...

I have a fun little poll up. It's given me a lot of grief, and I'm not sure how well it's gonna work, but I'm gonna give it a shot anyhow. If it bothers you, don't be a puss and cry about it. Just don't vote. It's all in fun, so who cares. I don't care if your vote is just in jest or serious. It's hardly scientific. I was gonna include the chilli dog and the dirty sanchez, however, I don't want to know if any of my friends do that. Keep it to yourselves. Also, I realize that many of these choices are more positions than acts, but let's not split hairs.

Rollercoaster...

Is what my Grandpa's health has been. We thought he was getting better, then he got worse. We thought he was going to have a tracheotomy or possibly die, and he has rebounded. He is now off his ventilator since Sunday night. I am not overly encouraged by this, as it appeared that my uncle got better just before he died. So, I am just going to see what happens, and if he gets out of the hospital, I'll be a little more encouraged. However, he's been in bad shape for a while now. So, even then I will not be surprised upon receiving bad news. On the other hand, he has demonstrated a remarkable will to live under adverse conditions...so, I won't be surprised if he recovers, either.

Had another nice weekend with 'Rene. We went to dinner with her folks, and they bought me dinner with the gift certificate I got her Dad for his birthday. We had a great time, except we had the most atrocious service I've had in a long damn time. By the way, when we walked in to the restaurant, Lorene spied a woman choking on her food and ran over and helped her. Apparently, her family was about to give her a needless heimlich, and Lorene was able to take care of the situation with just a few instructions. That's my 'Rene.
